Billeinbo, Billeinbo Bira Sime!

The Ijaw National Congress (INC), Bille Clan, has taken note of the public announcement dated 23rd January 2025, issued by Engr. (Chief) Okiye Evans Senibo Will Braide and Alabo Dabaye Kingsley Young W.K. Jack, acting as Chairman and Secretary of the Torusarama Piri Chiefs Council, on behalf of the Amayanabo, Alhaji Mujaheed Asari Dokubo.

We categorically state that their response is not only misleading and malicious but also fails to address the pertinent issues highlighted in our earlier press briefing. Their statements appear to be a deliberate attempt to mislead the general public and divert attention from the real matters at hand.

We hereby reaffirm our initial position and strongly caution Alhaji Mujaheed Asari Dokubo, Engr. (Chief) Okiye Evans Senibo Will Braide, and Alabo Dabaye Kingsley Young W.K. Jack, the self-proclaimed leaders of the Torusarama Piri Chiefs Council, to immediately cease all acts of trespass and encroachment on the clearly defined and extant territory of Bille Kingdom.

The defamatory claims against Hon. Adokiye Levi-Akinda, the Financial Secretary, and other respected members of the Bille Clan are baseless and laughable. Hon. Adokiye Levi-Akinda is a reputable politician within the Degema Local Government Area, and our other leaders are equally accomplished professionals in their respective fields. The allegations of involvement in bunkering, cultism, and other criminal activities are not only false but appear to better describe the very individuals loyal to the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri and his associates.

We completely and unequivocally condemn this libellous publication and regard it as a misguided attempt at academic rhetoric devoid of factual substance.

Additionally, we wish to remind the public that there is a Nigerian Naval post strategically positioned at the entrance of Dabira Creek, complemented by the presence of the Nigerian Army, 29 Tactical Battalion, which actively maintains peace within the Bille Kingdom territory. Consequently, we do not welcome Alhaji Mujaheed Asari Dokubo or any militants acting under his command to patrol or interfere with the affairs of our territory under any pretense.

We urge all well-meaning members of the public to disregard the misleading narratives propagated by these individuals. The Bille Clan remains committed to the unity, peace, and security of its people and territory.

Signed:

Hon. Adokiye Levi-Akinda (Financial Secretary)

For: Mr. Andrew Bala Kio (Chairman)

According to established legal principles governing the ownership and use of land, including the Nigerian Land Use Act (1978), the rights of indigenous communities to their ancestral lan...
