Andoni LGA Sole Administrator Vows to Prioritize Workers' Welfare, Dissolves Previous Appointments

The Sole Administrator of Andoni Local Government Area,Mr. Atajit Francis says his administration will focus more on Primary Education, Sanitation, Healthcare as well as Youth development.

The Andoni Sole Administrator, Mr. Francis stated this during a meeting with staff at the council headquarters in Ngo Town.

Mr. Francis, while urging staff to show commitment to duty, also assured that transparency and accountability will be the hallmark of his administration.

He further proposed a monthly environmental sanitation exercise in all communities in the LGA.


The Sole Administrator of Andoni LGA, Atajit Francis, during the interactive session with workers of the council, also promised to prioritize staff welfare while emphasizing the importance of teamwork to achieve targets even within a short time frame of his leadership. 

Atajit further urged workers to refrain from making un-complimentary utterances, including gossips which he noted, could cause rancor and acrimony in the work environment.

The Andoni Sole Administrator, Atajit Francis who is also a renowned Surveyor during the meeting, announced the dissolution of all outstanding Committees as well as the termination of all political appointments made by the previous administration.

He further directed those affected to handover all council document to the new Council Secretary.

Earlier in his remarks at the event, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE Andoni Branch, Comrade John Idante Ishmael welcomed the Andoni Sole Administrator and pledged their determination to work cooperatively with him to succeed.

Also speaking, the Head of Local Government Administration in Andoni LGA Emmanuel Eke advised council staff to be diligent in the discharge of their duties.

Eke further warned that non-performing staff may face punitive consequences including withholding of salary.

The ANOLGA HLGA also clarified that shift allowances would only be paid to staff who work shifts, and hazard allowances would be paid to specific categories of workers, such as environmental sanitation officers.

Highlight of the event was the Sole Administrator's visit to the Model Primary Healthcare Centre in Ngo and the Primary Healthcare Centre in Uyangala.

Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025. The court, presided over by Senior Magistrate Kingsley Briggs became confused and had to search through his record book, where he confirmed the lawyer’s presence during proceeding on Tuesday the 10th day of February, 2026. Federal Government Yet to Approve Adire as NYSC Uniform, Minister Clarifies
