Bille Women Urges Government To End Incessant Pirate's Attacks On waterways

Rivers State Government has been called upon to end incessant pirates attacks on the Bille waterways.


The call was made when Women from Bille kingdom in Degema local government area of Rivers State on Monday, 12th May, 2025, took to the streets of Port Harcourt to protest the incessant sea pirates’ attacks on their waterways and communities.

 


The protesters went through the streets of Port Harcourt, storming the Rivers State Government house appealing to the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, to come to their rescue.

 

The protesters appealed for immediate interventions from the government by deploying Security Patrols, requesting marine police and naval units along the Bille waterways to curtail activities of criminals and restore safety.

 


The women also called for Search and Rescue Operations to take immediate action to locate and secure the release of kidnapped victims.

 

They appealed for the creation of Permanent Marine Security Outposts and the establishment of strategic checkpoints at vulnerable transit location to prevent future attacks.

 


The protesters who wore black attires carried placards with inscriptions such as Don't Allow Sea Pirates Take Over Our Waterways’, Bring Back Governor Fubara’, ‘Bille Kingdom says no to sea piracy’, 'Our husbands, sons and children writing WAEC are always kidnapped’, ‘Come to our aid, stop the attacks and the killings’.

 


Receiving the protesters on behalf of Rivers State's Sole Administrator, the Government House Commandant, said the sole administrator will do everything within the government power to stop further attacks and restore peace on the waterways.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory

Pastor Dehumanizing Children In Rivers State Cools Off In Police Net

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, Preliminary investigations revealed that Pastor Joseph allegedly organized a 3-day program for children in his Church, purportedly for "spiritual cleaning," claiming to have been inspired by the Holy Spirit.
