The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has delivered a warm farewell message to intending pilgrims on the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Speaking at a pre-departure meeting at the Port Harcourt International Airport today,23rd, May 2025, the Sole Administrator expressed his gratitude to God for granting the pilgrims opportunity to fulfil one of Islam’s pillars.
Represented by the Secretary to the state Government, Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika, he highlighted the significance of the journey and beacons on them to follow the steps of the Prophet mohammed.
He emphasized the need for pilgrims to be disciplined, spiritually focused and law abiding. “As you embark on this trip to the Holy City of Mecca, remember this is a symbolic season of holiness. It is an opportunity to grow closer to God and walk in the footsteps of the prophets”.
As you fulfill your spiritual duties to Allah, pray for the peace and development of Rivers State and Nigeria. Also, as you return, we wish to see that Hajj has instilled the essential values of unity, love, peace, selflessness amongst other others in you”, he stressed.
