Three Thousand Seven Hundred Women Benefit From Federal Government Tricycle Empowerment

The Federal government through the Nigerian Consumers Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) initiative has empowered three thousand seven hundred women with tricycle popular known as Keke across the thirty six States in Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

This was made known during the presentation ceremony organized by CREDICORP in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital on Wednesday, 25th June, 2025.

Speaking to Newsmen at the sideline of the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Consumers Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), Engineer Uzoma Nwagba stated that the aim of the empower 100 women in each State including the FCT with a source of economic support and relevance.

Engineer Nwagba while revealing that the initiative also empowers civil servants, low income earnings with various life and economic values stated that the initiative under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu was a laudable one.

The CREDICORP boss while urging the women to ensure they pay back their credit revealed that the empowered women under the credit scheme will pay back their loans for the Keke gradually.

Earlier in his address, the Chief Operating Officer of Gamma Mobility, Mr. Sam Esri who appreciated CREDICORP for the initiative and partnership revealed that all Keke presented to the women were manufactured in Nigeria.

He further stated that that the initiative is in line with the Tinubu led government to empower a Nigerians especially women stating that with the right support and platform, women can stir the transformation of the urban transport in Nigeria.

On her part, Mrs Elizabeth John one of the beneficiaries of the program appreciated CREDICORP and all its partners for remembering her and giving her the opportunity to become economic self reliance noting that the initiative will transform her life.

For Mrs. Adele Peace, another beneficiary, noted that the initiative will help her to become economic independent and will enable her be co-provider in her home.

The high point of the event was the presentation of the tricycle to the women who could not hide their joy and also displayed their driving skills.

Bille People Appeal To Governor Fubara To Prevail On Alhaji Asari Dokubo To Stop Evasion Of Territory
