Okirika Local Government Administrator Frowns At Slow Pace Of Isaka Jetty Construction

By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Contractor handling the construction of the Isaka Landing Jetty in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State have been directed to be alive to his responsibility. This directive was handed over by the Administrator of the Okrika Local Government Area, Engr Tamunobipiboye Thompson Isodiki, KSC when he undertook an unscheduled visit to Isaka. Engr Isodiki said,  I am not happy with what I see on site  about the *on going* construction of the Isaka Landing Jetty". The Administrator further said, "I cannot make any comment about the project unless the *drawings are* sent to my office *for* study ". He then ordered the Director of Works of the Okrika Local Government, Mrs Love Okwuchi Nwokogba to furnish him with all the necessary document concerning the project for proper assessment. The protesters who lamented that the situation had thrown the area into darkness for close to one month, stormed the PHED office at  Abeokuta street, D/Line, Port Harcourt carrying   placards with various inscriptions like "PHED You Are Supposed To Be Agent Of Light Not Darkness, No Light No Payment, We Are Tired Of  Paying For Darkness" among others.
