Doctor Stabs Lover To Death For Alleged Cheating In Rivers State

A middle aged man simply identified as 'Doctor' has allegedly stabbed his female lover nicknamed Ima to death,on Sunday night, 17th August,2025, at Okereke street, Mile one Diobu Port Harcourt in Rivers State.

Report says the man had accused his lover of cheating on him,which led to an argument between both of them and in the process,the Man allegedly used a knife to stab her to death.

We gathered that the caretaker  of the compound on noticing the development quickly rushed to Azikiwe Police Division,Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt to make a formal complaint on the incident and the prime suspect was arrested .

Meanwhile there was mammoth crowd of sympathizers and onlookers who gathered outside the Azikiwe Police Division on Monday morning,18th August 2025 when the corpse of the lady was brought to the station.

Our Correspondent who monitored the incident, observed that the corpse of the lady was taken to undisclosed mortuary by the Police few minutes after it was brought to the station.

 Spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko who confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department,SCIID, Port Harcourt for discreet investigation.

In the meantime, National Coordinator of Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign,Prince Wiro has called on the Police to ensure justice is served to the man who allegedly stabbed a lover identified as Ima to death in Port Harcourt.  

Mr. Wiro urged the Police to ensure a thorough and unbiased investigation with a view to serving justice on the matter.

"I want to use this opportunity to advice young persons that toxic relationship is not what you will endure.People should walk away from toxic relationship.There is no relationship that is more important that your life.You cannot be in toxic relationship at the expense of your life". Mr Wiro said.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive.
