Andoni Council Boss Urged To Relax Curfew Proffer Lasting Solution To Insecurity

The chairman of Andoni local government area in Rivers State Mr. Lucky Otuo has been urged to relax the curfew at the Andoni mainland and put in place more strategic security measures to end the cult activities and killings in the Area.

President, Agana Youth Assembly Comrade Obadiah Ignatius made this call in an interview with Radio Nigeria.

The Youth President while commending the Chairman for the placement of curfew to check insecurity and continuous breakdown of law and order, however noted that the ongoing curfew cannot serve the interest of the people as  socio-cultural life and business have crumbled in the affected communities.

'' It is also necessary to state, nonetheless, that the ongoing curfew of one month should be revisited, reviewed and possibly called off while devising possible and lasting solutions to the security issues rocking our people."

Comrade Ignatius appealed to the chairman to provide security outposts at Illotombi, Oyorokoto, Muma, Agwut-Obolo and other communities facing security challenges in the area.


He enjoined the council Boss to proffer lasting solutions to the incessant killings and restiveness in the Area.

The Youth President added that for over a month, the people of Andoni Island 1 have consistently suffered from unwarranted killings and Insecurity, occasioned by alleged cult related activities which resumed in the area after about four years of relative peace and calmness.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
