Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers, Rescue Hostage

Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have apprehended three suspected kidnappers linked to the kidnap of Mr.Chukwudekwu Emmanuel,a native of Lagos State, who was kidnapped in Etche local government area on the 17th of February 2026.

 The suspects Chinedu Okoro 38 year old, a native of Imo State, Okwudiri Njoku, 32 years, a native of Ozuzu in Etche Local Government and  Onyema Sunday, 25 years old from Ika in Akwa Ibom State.

A statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer ASP Blessing Agabe stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects specialize in luring unsuspecting victims from different parts of the country through social media platforms , using the images of reputable personalities to gain trust.

According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended while attempting to kidnap another victim,  Chisom George , who was deceitfully invited from Anambra State under the pretext of inviting  him for an interior decoration job.

 During investigation, the suspects confessed to multiple kidnapping operations, including:
The kidnapped of Jennifer Nnaji, a resident of Enugu State, on 1st March, 2026, the kidnap of Lakan Ayodele from  Lagos State. 

ASP Agabe noted that one operational motorcycle was recovered from the suspects.

While efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing gang leader and other members of the syndicate, the Commissioner of Police,Olugbenga Adepoju, has reassured residents of  the State of the Command's unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across the State.  

He advised the public to be cautious when dealing with unknown persons online.

The CP further stated that individuals should always verify identities of persons and companies for job offers, avoid sharing personal information, and inform trusted relations and friends of their movements before meeting any stranger.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. SP Koko said the missing girl left home on Monday, September 8th,2025. All efforts made to trace her whereabout proved abortive. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
