The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria as they celebrate the sacred festival of Eid-ul-Adha.
Barrister Ezeokenwa also commended the Federal Government’s declaration of Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration, describing the season as one of sacrifice, obedience, love, tolerance, and devotion to God.
According to the APGA National Chairman, Eid-ul-Adha remains a significant period that reminds Nigerians of the virtues of faith, selflessness, unity, and peaceful coexistence regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
Barrister Ezeokenwa seized the opportunity to call on Muslims nationwide to continue to remember Nigeria in their prayers, especially as the nation gradually moves into the build-up toward the 2027 General Elections.
He noted that the country is presently witnessing intense political activities and evolving electoral processes that require wisdom, patriotism, tolerance, and divine guidance for peaceful conduct and national stability.
The APGA National Chairman urged Nigerians to embrace peace, reject violence, hate speeches, and all forms of political intolerance capable of threatening the unity and democratic progress of the nation.
He further emphasized that only through collective prayers, responsible leadership, credible institutions, and peaceful participation can Nigeria successfully navigate the electoral season and strengthen democratic governance.
Barrister Ezeokenwa therefore appealed to political actors, party supporters, youths, and stakeholders across party lines to place national interest above personal ambitions and work towards ensuring free, fair, transparent, and peaceful elections in 2027.
While wishing Muslim faithful a joyful and spiritually rewarding Eid-ul-Adha celebration, he prayed for continued peace, progress, unity, and prosperity for Nigeria and her people.
“As we celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, let us renew our commitment to peace, unity, sacrifice, and national development. May Almighty Allah continue to guide and preserve Nigeria through these important democratic processes ahead,” Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa stated.
