Hope Aglow Charity Foundation Partners Abia State Diaspora Commission on Human Capacity Development

 


Umuahia, Abia State – The Hope Aglow Charity Foundation has initiated a strategic partnership with the Abia State Diaspora Commission to advance human capacity development, investment promotion, and cultural exchange between Abians at home and abroad.

The collaboration was formalized during a working visit by the Foundation’s founder, Prof. Cynthia Amaka Obiorah, and her team to the Commission’s office in Government House, Umuahia. The visit aimed to gain firsthand insight into the Commission’s mandate and to explore areas of joint intervention for the benefit of citizens and the diaspora community.

Speaking during the visit, Prof. Obiorah commended the Abia State Government for its strides in infrastructural renewal and economic transformation and rebirth of dignity and hope for persons living in Abia State, noting that the state is fast becoming a model for good governance in the Southeast.


“The transformation across Abia, particularly in Aba, is visible and impactful. The level of urban renewal and environmental sanitation reflects a deliberate commitment to restoring the dignity of the people. This administration has set a benchmark for what purposeful governance can achieve,” she said.

Prof. Obiorah stated that Hope Aglow Charity Foundation is committed to a long-term partnership with the Commission anchored on shared goals and measurable impact. She noted that the Foundation’s recently published books—_Shattered Innocence_, _Rough Diamond_, and _Health and Safety Communication_—align with the state’s priorities in gender inclusion, public health, and workforce development and those books shall be unveiled by the 25th of July 2026 and hoped that the governor Abia State Chioma Otti and the Diaspora Commission Rev. Dr. Annie N Onu would be 

“These works resonate with the administration’s focus on empowering women, promoting inclusive governance, Promoting health  sand advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. We believe there is significant scope for collaboration in advocacy, training, and knowledge sharing,” she added.

In her response, the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Secretary of the Abia State Diaspora Commission, Dr. Annie N. Onu, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to extending the impact of the state’s policies to Abians in the diaspora.

“The Governor’s vision is people-centered and inclusive. After 24 years of seeking good governance, Abia now has leadership that is responsive, transparent, and committed to equity. The government welcomes partnerships that drive development and elevate the state’s standing nationally and globally,” Dr. Onu stated.

She emphasized that the Commission remains open to collaborations that support capacity building, investment attraction, and diaspora engagement, adding that the current administration’s inclusive approach to governance creates a strong foundation for such initiatives.

The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to establish a working framework for sustained collaboration in human capital development, advocacy, and community engagement.

Missing Person: Rivers State Police Command declares Miss Joy Woke Wiro

A  statement by the Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command,SP Grace Iringe-Koko disclosed that she is 17 year old,a native of Ibaa in Emohua Local Government Area of the State,fair in complexion and about 5ft tall, speaks English and Ikwerre languages. Ghost Lawyer Defends Client in Port Harcourt Court

  A magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt was thrown into confusion today Thursday, the 12th of March, 2026 when it noticed that a lawyer who had died since last year, 2025 December appeared before it on Tuesday the 10th of February, 2026 to conduct his matter. When the matter was called for hearing, and the lawyer was not present, the court on inquiry was informed by the litigant that his lawyer died since last year December 2025.
