The Rivers State Police Command has condemned the gruesome killing of one OSPAC official and three other persons in Omoku town, Ogba Egbema Ndoni local government area of the State.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, ASP Blessing Agabe, one Obidi Emenike also sustained gunshot injuries during the attack and is currently receiving medical treatment.
The State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, described the incident as unfortunate, disturbing and a threat to the relative peace currently being enjoyed in Rivers State.
CP Adepoju assured the public that those responsible for the heinous crime will be identified, arrested, and made to face the full weight of the law.
The Commissioner of Police further enjoined all community-based security groups and local vigilante outfits across the State to work in close collaboration with the Rivers State Police Command under the supervision of their respective Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders.
He noted that the collaboration is essential to ensure proper coordination, enhance operational effectiveness and prevent members of such groups from becoming targets of criminals, while carrying out their lawful responsibilities.
The Command appealed to members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with the Police by providing credible and timely information that will assist ongoing investigations to the following numbers.
