Police arrested Killers of a PDP chieftain in Rivers state

The Rivers State Police command has paraded six Suspects in connection with the killing of Late chief Nwozuruaka Anele from Alakahia in Obio Akpor local government area of the state.The suspects were arrested by Operatives of the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department while following up on the Murder of the Late PDP Chieftain Nwozuruaka Anele who was murdered on 21st September, 2019 in cold blood in the presence of his wife and children at his residence in Alakahia Community.The suspects are Bright Wali male 21yrs from Alakahia, Blessing Ogbuagu female 23yrs from Abia State. EFCC arrest fake Magu in PortHarcourt

The Port Harcourt Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, has arrested an alleged impostor for using the name of the chairman of the Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, to blackmail Directors of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC. The Commission arrested the fake ‘IBRAHIM MAGU’ who has been using the name of the EFCC boss to blackmail bigwigs at the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, for bribes to stop corruption investigations. The alleged imposter, Mr. Robert Swem Terfa was reportedly arrested in Juanita Hotel, Port Harcourt, Rivers State where he was holding a meeting with some Directors of the NDDC over a phoney offer, to remove their names from the list of individuals being investigated by the EFCC. The impostor was said to have contacted the NDDC Directors claiming to be representing the EFCC Chairman. Serial killer David West in serious Trouble as Rivers state government takes over his case

Justice Adolphus Enebeli of Port Harcourt High court has remanded Gracious David West the serial killer in Prison Custody. Justice Enebeli remanded Gracious David West after he pleaded guilty in nine count charges out of the ten count charges read to him before the court but pleaded not guilty on the ten charge. During the court proceeding, Rivers State Government through the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Zacchaeus Adangor, filed an application to take over the prosecution of the matter from the Police OC Legal and Prosecution Counsel. The Presiding Judge Justice Enebeli, after listening to the argument of the parties granted the application of the state Prosecution to take over the case as it is a high profile matter which warrant capital punishment. Wike to dissolve Task Force on street Trading if...

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has declared that if the productivity of the Task Force on Street Trading, Illegal Markets and Motor Parks continues to decline, he will dissolve the Task Force. Addressing members of the Task Force at the Government House Port Harcourt, Governor Wike regretted that the operatives have compromised in some locations which have affected their performance. The Governor said that the Task Force through reduced performance has allowed street traders to return to Mile One, Air Force Junction, Rumuokoro and Agip areas of the state capital. He however praised the team’s operating in Garrison. More trouble for PortHarcourt serial killer as court set to give him a lawyer

Rivers State Police Command has arraigned the suspected serial killer, Gracious David West before a State High Court Sitting in Port Harcourt. When the matter was mentioned for plea, no charge was read and no plea taken, the trail Judge, Justice Adolphus Enebeli adjourned till tomorrow, the 22nd of October for plea following the absence of the defence counsel after the prosecution counsel mentioned appearances. Justice Enebeli said it was necessary for the accused to have his lawyer under Rivers State Criminal Justice Act, for the sake of justice and fairness. Nigerians urged to care for people with special needs

Nigerians have been asked not to discriminate people with special needs but show love to them. The founder of ‘Hope Dey Foundation’, Mr. Onyinye Amadi made the charge at an event to commemorate the eleventh year of existence of the foundation at Rumuodomaya in Obio- Akpor Local Government area of Rivers State. Mr. Amadi who gave out wheel chairs, guiding canes, generating sets among other items, explained that the gesture was a way the Foundation gives back to the society and urged the beneficiaries not to see themselves as weaklings but rather, able bodied persons who are useful in the society. Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, the chairman of Obio-Akpor local government council, Mr. Solomon Eke congratulated the recipients and promised to partner the organisation in offering skill acquisition programmes to alleviate the sufferings of the physically challenged. Over eight communities in Igwuruta submerged in flood

Over eight Communities in Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers state have been submerged in flood. Also affected are some schools and churches in the area. The people of Omunwei and Agborga Communities in Igwuruta Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State have been rendered homeless . The communities have also resorted to the use of makeshift bridge to access their homes. Two residents Mrs. Grace Chukwudi and Mrs. Ministry Edwin lamented that they have been forced to leave their homes while their children can no longer go to school. They are calling for quick intervention by the federal and state government. In the affected Omuahia and Omumah communities in Igwuruta, the residents were seen packing their loads to unknown destinations .
