Federal Government Arrest Leader Of Indigenous People Of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu

  The Federal Government has arrested the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami(SAN), who made the disclosure to journalists  today , revealed that Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday. He said the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol. Mr Malami further said that Kanu would be taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society.

Family Accuse Police Of Complicity In The Death Of 60 Year Old Woman In Rivers

 The family of a sixty year old woman,Mrs Dole Enoch has blamed the Octopus Strike Force of Rivers state Police command over the death of their mother. The Son of the deceased, Kelvin Enoch who was in tears narrated how the Police unit came to Soku,Okwelle;waterfront Mile 2 Diobu in Port Harcourt on Sunday evening and shot sporadically without provocation and his mother who is hypertensive  on hearing the gunshots that lasted for over thirty minutes collapsed and died. Wife Of IGP Charge Police Officers Not To Be Deterred By Recent Attacks On Personnel

 Officers of the Nigerian Police Force have been urged to continue to discharge their duties diligently and not be deterred  by the recent attacks on police personnel. The Wife of the Inspector General of Police, Hajiya Hajara Baba who made this known while addressing the wives of police officers on her five day visit to Rivers State decried that the attacks and killings have subjected many families into untold hardship. The wife of the IGP who is also the National President of Police Officers Wife Association ,POWA; warned against playing politics with insecurity which she said could affect National development.  Mrs Baba assured the police officers wives of support of the Force and her three point agenda. Bonny Youths Allegedly Invade Finima Community Protest Against NLNG , Injuries 9 And Destroy Property

  Youths allegedly from Bonny Kingdom also staged a counter protest against the protesters from Finima community and disrupted the process. The counter protesters attacked and unleashed mayhem on the Finima protesters, critically injuring nine persons and destroyed seven vehicles, shops and  set ablaze a bus belonging to  Finima Youths Congress. Speaking on the attacks,one of the injured victims, Prince Brown, accused the traditi onal leaders in Bonny of sponsoring the youths against the peaceful Finima protesters.  Mr Prince Brown noted that hoodlums from Bonny heavily armed with matches, guns and bottles attacked him and others . Our Correspondent who went round the community reports that business activities in the area were affected as market and shops were shut down with security agents seen policing major junctions in the community.

'Recognize Us' As Your Host Community' Finima People Urges NLNG In A Peaceful Protest

 Finima community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State have staged a peaceful protest to  the industrial area of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited,NLNG;  in Bonny. Members of the community, numbering over 1000, blocked the main entrance of the NLNG singing and dancing Ibani cultural songs, demanding to be officially recognized as host community to the NLNG. One of the stakeholders in the community, Mr. Dagogo Brown, said they want the gas multinational to be addressed and recognized as NLNG Finima in Bonny Island and not just NLNG Bonny. Mr Brown maintained that the Community Content Guidelines CCG, stipulated  in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act, NOGICD Act should be implemented for the people of Finima, as host community .  The Andoni Area Traditional Rulers Council has appealed to the abductors of the paramount ruler of Ayama Ekede Town in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, His Royal Highness King Bibama Ekpirikpo to immediately release the monarch unconditionally. The Andoni monarchs stated this during a visit to the Ekede Town Council of Chiefs to discuss on modalities of ensuring the prompt release of the 92 years monarch who was kidnapped from his Palace 16days ago. Rivers Police Arrest Suspected 'One Chance ' Robbers Terrorizing Obiri Ikwerre Axis Of Port Harcourt

Police  at Rumuosi in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state , have arrested   3 Members of a robbery gang that specialises in robbing unsuspecting persons of their belongings around the Choba/ Obiri Ikwerre axis of the State.  The suspects are  Chukwudi Ani , Edwin  Okike and Chidinma Eze  Police Public Relations Officer Mr Nnamdi Omoni in statement said the suspects were arrested, after successfully robbing one Mr Simon Ibrahim who was on his way to make deposit in the Bank. Mr Omoni said luck ran out on the suspects who drove in a Mazda car when the victim raised alarm that alerted the Police and they were immediately arrested and taken to the Choba Police Station.  The victim had in his  possession the sum of One point five Million  Naira According to the statement, The Commissioner of Police, Mr Eboka Friday has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID to take over the investigation and ensure that other members of the gang are arrested and prosecuted.
