IPMAN Press Officer, Others Vindicated After Spending 51 Days At Correctional Center

  Some operatives of   Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria,  IPMAN; National Task Force  Inland ,water ways, South-South Zone, who were arrested on the 1st of February 2022 and charged to court on the 2nd of February  on  charges related to petroleum crime, have been set free by a magistrate court sitting in PortHarcourt.  Chief Magistrate   Amadi Nna who earlier remanded the accused persons on the first day of arraignment based on  advice from Directorate of Public Prosecution ,DPP; exonerated the accused and ruled in their favour. In his ruling Chief Magistrate Nna stated that the operatives  were legitimately conducting their operations when arrested on trumped up charges. The Magistrate directed that the Rivers State Government House Camp Commandant,Operation STING commander, Rivers State Police command and the Port Harcourt City local government, should with immediate effect release all items including the 120 drums of diesel and the van conveying it to  IPMAN N

Justice At Last : Court Sentenced Killers Of Esther Edomobi To Death By Hanging

  A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has sentenced to death by hanging the murderers of late Mrs Esther Edomobi, who was killed at her residence in Cocaine Estate, Obio Akpor local government area, on 24 May, 2008 . The four accused, Zakariah Dauda, Inah-Inah Edet, Sunday Pius and Isaac Marcus have been standing trial since 2008 on three count charges of conspiracy, armed robbery and murder of late Mrs Edomobi who was the boss to the 1st accused Zachariah Dauda, employed as a security guard in her residence. The trial Judge, Justice Weli Chechey, found the four Defendants guilty as charged and carting away her property and cash worth millions of pounds. The court ruled that the evidence presented before it showed that the Defendants killed late Mrs Edomobi in a gruesome manner, by hitting her hard severally on the face. Justice Chechey held that the prosecution proved it case beyond reasonable doubt by judicious discharge of its onus operandi, and thereby convicted the four accused

Police Arrests Four Suspected Kidnappers In Rivers State Who Killed Their Victim

  Operatives of Rivers State Police Command have  apprehended four suspects involved in the kidnapping and murdered of a commuter Mr. Onyekachi Chukwuagu, along East West Road  Rumuodogo  Community axis in Emohua Local Government Area of the State. The suspects  Obichi Ngita 20year old,  Chisom Honest aged 20 years, Young Chitu age 21 years and Omens Woke  23 years on Tuesday, 22nd March, 2022. Acting Police Public Relations Officer Mrs Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said the suspects pretended to be regular passengers, boarded the victim’s vehicle. However, when they got to a quiet part of the route,  kidnapped the victim and abandoned the vehicle, with Reg. No. GDD 250 MU by the roadside. Case Between Tambari Michael And NLNG Suffers Set Back As Claimant Lawyer Was Absent

  National Industrial Court sitting in Port Harcourt  has adjourned to 16th June 2022 the matter between Mr. Tambari Michael and  Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas, NLNG; for cross examination.  The case presided over by Justice Nelson Ogbuanya was adjourned on the ground that the claimant counsel was unable to attend the sitting following the breakdown of his vehicle on his way to the court.   Mr. Tambari Michael had earlier approached the court to challenge the termination of his appointment by NLNG and also prayed the Court to declare it illegal.

CP Assures IGP That Officers From Rivers Command Will Not Join Strike Action

  Rivers state police command has assured the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Baba  that officers from the state will not embark on strike as speculated.  Commissioner of Police,  Eboka Friday gave the assurance in Port Harcourt while speaking to personnels of the Command over the welfare packages put in place by the IGP. Mr.Friday  commended the IGP for making the welfare of officers his tops priority. Some of the Officers who assured the commissioner that they will not join any strike action were drawn from  Bori, Oyigbo, Eleme, Mini Okoro, amongst other Police Divisions.

Gunmen Rob Bolt Driver In PortHarcourt, Whisk Away His Car And Belongings

  Report says gunmen pretended to be  passengers snatched an ash-colored Toyota Corolla from a Bolt driver at the Mother-Cat Junction in  Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The bolt driver, Mr.Segun Akinyola,  explained that when they got to Mother-Cat Junction, one of the supposed passenger's brought out a gun and pointed  at him, while two other came out from a dark corner with guns in their hands.  Mr. Akinyola said the gunmen robbed him of his phone and money before pushing him out of the vehicle and zoomed off.  The Bolt driver stated that he reported the incident at the Elekahia Police Division.  However,Acting police public Relations Officer Rivers State Command Mrs.Grace Iringe-Ikoko, was yet to respond to the incident as of the time of filing this report.

IGP Talks Tough On Illegal Bunkering Activities As Protection Of National Assets Tops Priority

  As part of efforts to rid the country of illegal bunkering activities, the Nigeria police intercepted and arrested about 42 suspects with 41 trucks loaded with petroleum products from different parts of Rivers state.   Parading the suspects, the Inspector General of Police, IGP; Usman Baba said the Force is determined to ensure economic saboteurs are flushed out of the country.   The IGP explained that the Federal Government is committed to providing an enabling environment for the country’s economy to thrive, hence the need to protect her assets. Alleged Murder Of Esther Edomobi,Court Reserves Judgement

  A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has reserved judgement on the murder case of late Mrs. Esther Edomobi, who was allegedly murdered at her residence in Cocaine Village, Obio/Akpor local government area, by her security guard in collaboration with three others. Late Mrs. Edomobi was said to have been murdered by the 1st Defendant Zakariah Dauda employed as a guard in her home, who conspired with Inah-Inah Edet, Sunday Pius and Isaac Marcus, 2nd to 4th Defendants to kill the deceased on 24 May, 2008. Police Arrest Father Of 12 Year Old Physically Challenged Defilement Victim

 Ubima Police Division in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State  arrested Mr Eze Eleonu whose twelve year old daughter was allegedly defiled by Victor Elem in the community, on the alleged orders of the sister to the accused. Rivers State Government Encourages Women's Emancipation

  A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in PortHarcourt has remanded Mr.Victor Elem,the man  accused of defiling a twelve year old physically challenged girl  at Ubima, in Ikwerre Local Government Area to PortHarcourt Correctional Centre till March 21st,2022 when the accused will be arraigned properly. Tragedy As OSPAC Member Kills Self In Ikwerre Community

  An OSPAC  member simply identified as Elemchukwu was said to have killed himself through an accidental discharge of his dane gun at Ubima Community,Ikwerre local Government area of Rivers State. The Vice Chairman of OSPAC in Ubima,Mr. Amadi Goodluck in an interview with journalists explained that the OSPAC member died as a result of accidental discharge contrary to information making rounds that two OSPAC members were involved in a shoot out which led to the death of Elemchukwu. Mr. Goodluck said  he was in his office about 8am yesterday when he received information that Elemcgukwu has shot himself dead. EFCC Arrests Former Anambra Governor, Hours After His Wife Was Slapped

    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC has arrested former Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport Lagos. Mr.Obiano, who has been on the Commission’s watchlist, was arrested at about 8.30pm. He was reportedly on his way out of the country to Houston, Texas in the United States after handing over to his successor, Governor Charles Soludo. The EFCC had requested the Nigeria Immigration Service to inform it anytime the Governor is travelling out of the country from any of the international airports, as well as other points of entry and exit. It is, however, not yet clear why the anti-graft agency placed the governor on a watchlist. We gathered  that the move was an indication that the agency may have been discreetly investigating the governor and possibly have intelligence that he was planning to escape after handing over power to his successor, Professor Charles Soludo, yesterday.

60 Year Old Man Defiles Physically Challenged Girl In Rivers Community

    A Father, Mr Eze Eleonu whose   twelve year old physically challenged daughter was defiled  has seek for Justice. Mr. Eleonu in an interview with Newsmen  explained that on Saturday 5th March ,2022 when he came home he met the suspect Victor stake naked sitting very close to  his physically challenged daughter who was also naked. More Twist As News Has It Was Bianca Ojukwu That Slapped Former Governor's Wife In Anambra

  A fight broke out at the venue of the swearing in ceremony of Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo this morning when Bianca Odimegwu Ojukwu slapped the out gone First Lady of Anambra, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano. We gathered that at the venue, the fight started when Mrs Obiano who came late to the occasion was going round to greet the dignitaries. On getting to where Bianca sat, she said.
