Civil Society groups have expressed satisfaction with the level of work at different remediation sites in Ogoni land. The Project Officer, Energy and Climate Change Environmental Rights Action, Mr. Kentebe Ebinridor, expressed the feeling while assessing the work done by contractors at different lots in Ogoni land. According to Mr. Ebinridor, the progress made on the cleanup is beyond their preconceived position. The Environmental Activist however called for speedy action by the contractors. Similarly, the spokesman for Civil Society Legislative Center Abuja, Mr. Ibrahim Idris lauded HYPREP for their efforts in cleanup exercise but demanded that standards should not be lowered. On his part, Communication Officer HYPREP, Mr. Kpobari Nafo who took the Civil Society groups to different sites debunked insinuations from some quarters that Ogoni cleanup exists only on newspaper pages.
