#Police Brutality: Family of a Commercial Driver Allegedly Murder by Police Officer Demands One Hundred Million Naira as Compensation
Rivers State Judicial Commission of Inquiry into Alleged Acts of Violence , Torture, Brutality, Murder and Violation of Fundamental Rights of Citizens Committed by Officers and Men of the Nigerian Police Force has struck out two petitions. The panel struck out the petition of David Paul and ThankGod Nwabeke ,when their attention were drawn to the fact that judgment had already been given on the matter but it had challenges of enforcement . Our Correspondent reports that the Chairman of the Panel, Justice Chukwuneye Uriri told the petitioners that it was not in the Jurisdiction of the panel to enforce judgment and thereby struck out the matter. Also, the panel adjourned till Wednesday this week to continue in a matter brought by the family of Bright Chinatu-Mark who was allegedly killed by a police officer at Rumuokoro in 2018.
