Stakeholders Urges Governor Fubara To Link Up Riverine Communities To State Capital

Rivers Police Arrest Army, Civil Defence Officers Engaged In Arm Robbery

  By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  Over ten suspects mainly security officers from the Nigerian Army and Civil Defence Corps specializing in  armed robbery have been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command. Police Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said investigations by the Command, following arrests for attempted burglary,  revealed a wide range of criminal activities. According to the statement, on the 4th of March  2024, the Command received a distress call about burglars who were attempting to vandalize warehouses in Elimgbu Obio Akpor local government area, owned by Mr. Emmanuel Nwangwu and Mrs. Ndifreke Ekanem.  The police promptly mobilized to the scene and arrested five suspects who had been severely beaten by a mob. Deputy Inspector General of Police rates Rivers state high in crime fighting

                   By Awajis Chijindu  Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG; Information Communication and Technology, ICT; in charge of the South South region, DIG Daniel Pedro has rated Rivers State as one of the states with lowest report of crimes.  The DIG made this known in Port Harcourt when he visited Rivers State in continuation of his tour to the south south six States commands under him.    DIG Pedro revealed that he was in the state to discuss certain things with his officers and also to encourage them to keep up with the good works. Gov. Fubara pledge To Prioritize Workers Welfare
