Police Recover 3 Skulls,1 Dead Body from Septic Tank... Arrest Suspect

Operatives of the Aniti-Kidnapping Unit, in a Sting Operation , arrested a notorious kidnapper and serial killer, one Anthony Ndubuisi from Ngo-Okpala in Imo State but resides at Umuebulu Etche Local Government Area. The suspect who was arrested through intelligence led policing, on interrogation confessed to have carried out several kidnappings and killings of his unsuspecting victims, including three Foreign Nationals and a Nigerian. The recent, being the kidnapping and killing of one Ajumiene Offor who was lured from Aba to his house, for a business transaction but kidnapped and killed on the 9th of June 2020. In the course of investigation, the suspect led Operatives to his house at Umuebulu, where he pointed to a Septic Tank that contained the bodies of his victims. Covid 19: Residents of Bonny Decry Untold Hardship

As the lockdown of Bonny Local Government of Rivers State continues, Residents have lamented the hardship they are going through. The Residents Mr. Theophilus Egbe and Mr. Jumbo Ashly in a telephone interview with our Correspondent said living has become unbearable as they can not access financial institution for transactions. Mr. Egbe and Mr. Ashly decried the inability to buy food items as shops and market are shut down in compliance with the State government's directive. Federal Government Lifts Interstate Ban

The Federal Government has lifted the ban placed on interstate travels with effect from July 1, provided such journeys are made outside curfew hours. The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this at the daily briefing of the task force in Abuja today. Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, also said the government has approved the safe resumption of domestic flights in the country. He disclosed that the latest developments were contained in the task force’s fifth interim report which was submitted to President Muhammadu Buhari . Federal Government Approves Reopening of Schools for Some Students

The Federal Government has approved “safe reopening” of schools nationwide in the next phase of the gradual easing of lockdown ordered to curtail further spread of COVID-19. However, only graduating students will resume. The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, disclosed this at the daily briefing of the task force in Abuja today He said the reopening of schools was meant to allow students in graduating classes to resume preparation for examinations. Rivers State Government Bans Unyeada Fish Festival in Andoni Local Government Area

Rivers State Government has banned the proposed fishing festival scheduled to hold at Unyeada in Andoni Local Government Area on July 5, 2020 for security reasons. To this end, security agencies have been directed to ensure that the festival does not hold. Nigerian Man Dies while Trying to Escape Immigration Officers in Asia

Nigerian man died at Indonesia while running from immigration officers during the early hours of today. The Nigerian man whose identity is yet to be disclosed resides in the 27-floor Gading Nias apartment in Kelapa Garden Central Jakarta Indonesia. He heard immigration officers were coming and tried to escape. He however fell from his window where he was hiding. APC Dissolves National Working Committee...Appoint Yobe State Governor as New CTC Chairman

The current National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved. This formed part of decisions taken on Thursday at the ongoing meeting of the APC National Executive Council at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The party took the decision to dissolve its NWC based on the recommendations of President Muhammadu Buhari. The President also called for the immediate suspension of all pending litigations involving the party and its members, as well as the ratification of the party’s governorship primary election recently conducted in Edo State. Rivers State Government Spells out Guidelines For Marriages... Defaulters to Pay 10 million Naira

The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mr. Paulinus Nsirim has announced Council's approval of guidelines for marriages during the Covid-19 period. Mr. Nsirim said prospective couples would be required to apply to the State Governor through the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation. He stressed that such applications must be accompanied with information on the venue of the ceremony, names, addresses and phones numbers of attendees to make contact tracing easy if the need arises. Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has struck out the suit filed by Mr. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama stopping Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating in the tomorrow's governorship primary elections of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State. One of the counsels for the plaintiff, D. C. Denwigwe, had upon court resumption of hearing in an oral application informed the court that the parties in the suit have resolved their differences. PHED Implements Increased Electricity Tariff From July in South South

Federal High Court Stops Obaseki From Contesting PDP Primaries.

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has granted an ex parte order barring the PDP in Edo from allowing Governor Obaseki to take part in the exercise. Justice Emmanuel Obile gave the order on Monday after granting the application filed by one of the PDP Aspirants in Edo, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who said he would not step down for the governor. He also ordered that the parties in the suit should be served through substituted means, in two national dailies. The judge, thereafter, adjourned the matter until June 24 for the hearing of the summon. In the suit filed before the court on Monday, Ogbeide-Ihama sought an order of interim injunction to retrain members of the PDP, except those who purchased the forms during the stipulated timetable from participating in the primary, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction. NDDC to Re-Open Head Office.... Restrict Visitors

PRESS STATEMENT The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, will re-open its head office on Thursday, June 18, after a two week lockdown to allow for the fumigation of the premises. The lockdown was in obedience to public health directives from the Rivers State Ministry of Health, following cases of COVID 19 infections. Only staff from Grade 14 and above and those on essential duties are directed to resume. Staff on other grade levels are to remain at home pending directives from the Federal Government. Court Sentence One Joseph Udoh to Death by Hanging For Killing An Ex-Banker in PortHarcourt

A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has sentenced one Joseph Udoh to death by hanging for killing Mr. Pascal Nnorum an ex banker with one of the new generation Banks in Rivers state . Port Harcourt High Court Strikes out Murder Charges Against SARS Commander

More Trouble for Oshiomole As Appeal Court Uphold His Suspension As APC National Chairman

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja today affirmed the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomole as a member and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ruling on the interlocutory appeal filed by Comrade Oshiomhole, the appellate court upheld the decision of the Federal Capital Territory High Court delivered by Justice Danlami Senchi which in March ordered the suspension of Oshiomhole as well as restraining him from parading himself as the National Chairman of the party. In a unanimous judgement in the first appeal delivered by Justice Eunice Onyemanam, the court held that the FCT High Court had territorial jurisdiction to have entertained the suit as it did. A herdsman who was arrested for allegedly raping a pregnant woman in Ryom local government area of Plateau State, has confessed that he committed the act because the husband of the woman killed his cow. The suspect, Nura Umaru, was arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Plateau State Police Command, after he had been on the run for four months. The Rivers State Police command has directed it's men to enforce the compliance of the curfew declared by the Federal Government, which begins at 10pm to 4am daily. Police Public Relations Officer , PPRO; Mr.Nnamdi Omoni also directed police officers in the state not to implement the curfew earlier imposed by the Rivers State Government, which ought to begin at 8pm to 6am daily. PRESS STATEMENT The attention of the All Progressives Congress APC in Rivers state has been drawn to actions by certain impostors hiding under the guise of having the authority of the National Working Committee of the APC to appeal the judgement of the Rivers state High Court which confirmed Rt. Hon. Igo Aguma as Caretaker Committee Chairman which has all Statutory members of the state Executive Committee in Rivers state as members. For the records, the national working Committee of the APC has not authorized anybody or group to represent the party or file any appeal against this judgement on behalf of the Party. As such, doing so by anyone will amount to criminal impersonation of the APC National Working Committee. The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State during the 2015 general elections, Dr. Dakuku Peterside says today’s judgment by Rivers State High Courts were not totally unexpected. In a chat with journalists, he stressed that the court in its wisdom in both cases granted all reliefs sought by the claimants including reliefs not sought. On one hand, Dele Moses and nine others had gone to court against the APC to declare them authentic candidates for the party's congresses in the state. On the other hand, Hon Igo Aguma had gone to court, challenging the composition of the caretaker committee for the party in the state. APC Caretaker Committee Under my watch Will Implement All Court Judgement... Aguma

Reacting to the ruling of the court, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC; Igo Aguma said as a CTC chairman,the leadership under his watch would implement all court Judgement especially the supreme court Judgement on the conduct of party congresses which is the the root of the current crisis in the party. Mr. Aguma stated that the judgement offers the party an opportunity to imbibe Democratic tenets in keeping with the party's constitution. Speaking further, the chieftain noted that the party now has an opportunity for genuine reconciliation and peace driven not by the principal actors ,but by the statutory members , which the principal actors are bonafide members. He urged all party faithful to come together to explore options for peace and progress as progressive. The party chieftain stressed that APC is bigger than any individual and at such all members are stakeholders .

Court Rule in Favour of Dele Moses and Nine Others to Participate in APC Congress

A State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has ruled that all the members of the All Progressives Congress,APC; in Rivers State who purchased nomination form for the 2018 ward, Local Government and State Congresses including Dele Moses and nine others be allowed to participate in fourtcoming Congresses without paying any fresh fee. Justice George Omereji in his judgement on the matter instituted by one Dele Moses and nine others ruled in favour of the claimants in six originating summon sought in the matter. Among which the court held that it does not have Jurisdiction to interpret judgment of court to coordinate Jurisdiction but has the Jurisdiction to enforce the judgment of the three levels of the court as sought by the claimants. Court Declares Igo Aguma as APC CTC chairman in Rivers State

A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress in Rivers state Igo Aguma have been declared chairman of the caretaker committee of the party by the high court sitting in Port Harcourt. In suit brought by Igo Aguma against the party and it's National leadership led by Adams Oshiomole approached the court to declare him the chairman caretaker committee of APC and to secure an injunction stopping ward, Local Government and State Congresses that was scheduled late last year, demanding that reconciliation be done before any Congress amongst other prayers. Ahoada West Chairman Vows to Deal With Criminals Terrorising Owube Community

The People of Owube community in Ahoada West Local Government Area are appealing to Security Agencies to assist them get rid of hoodlums terrorising the community. The people explained that since 2015 there has been unrest in the community as a result of cult related matters.
