 By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police command has rescued a kidnapped victim one Mr. Madabuchi Julius from his abductors at Oyigbo local government area of the state, after a gun battle between the abductors and the police. According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, on the 17th of November, 2014, at about 2023hrs. Operatives of the Command received a distress call from the Command's Control Room indicating that a gang of armed men numbering about four  operating in a Black colour Toyota Corolla car shot sporadically and kidnapped one Madabuchi Julius 'm' at Sabbath Filling Station, Oyigbo. SP Iringe-Koko stated that operatives were swiftly mobilized to the scene and the hoodlums on sighting the Police drove off, but were given a hot chase by the operatives and intercepted along Egbu Street, Oyigbo and a gun duel ensued between the  operatives and the hoodlums. By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police Command has neutralized a notorious cultist and kidnapper, Gbarani Bume, Popularly known as Pelele, a native of Bere Community in Khana Local Government Area of the State. Police Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement, said the suspect was a member of the Iceland Cult Group, which has been terrorizing Beree/Tabaa axis of Khana Local Government Area. According to the statement, on the 15th of November, 2024, operatives of the Command attached to Bori Division acting on a tip-off, were mobilized to Luawii Community where Pelele and his gang were attempting to kidnap a site Engineer. The hoodlums on sighting the Operatives, opened fire on the operatives and a fierce crossfire ensued between the Police Operatives and the hoodlums during which Pelele was fatally wounded, his accomplices escaped with various degrees of bullet wounds. By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  A man simply identified as Nnana in his early 30s has allegedly stabbed his neighbour, 65-year-old Monday Reuben at Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt on the neck and head region after accusing the aged man of witchcraft.   Radio Nigeria gathered that the said Nnana fled after allegedly committing the crime.   In an interview with our Correspondent, the victim, Mr Reuben Monday said " I am caretaker of 37 Okwelle Street,Mile 2 Diobu.Nnana stab me.When I call him oboy they want to pack sand,shift one side.  By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that an unidentified corpse was found near Ayama Junction/Ikokwu Spare Parts Market, along Olu-Obasanjo Road, Port Harcourt. Police Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement said it was discovered that the deceased was a notorious individual known for serial burglary and stealing in  Ikokwu and its environs. According to the statement, preliminary findings suggest that the individual may have been lynched by angry mob at the  scene while attempting to commit a crime, and his remains were subsequently dumped on the road, where it was struck by a fast-moving vehicle, resulting in significant bodily damage. She stated that all vital organs were found intact, while the corpse has been evacuated and a thorough investigation currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.   By: Awajis Josiah-Chijindu   Business owners and residents around Ikoku spare parts market in D-line axis of Port Harcourt Rivers State were thrown into a confused state early Saturday morning, 9th November 2024, as they discovered a lifeless body of a man in his early 40s with multiple machete cuts,side of buttocks and penis allegedly chopped off. Eyewitnesses who saw the corpse disclosed that his stomach was ripped open and intestine  allegedly removed . The corpse was sighted at the  front of a new generation bank/Ayama junction along Olu-Obasanjo road Port Harcourt. An eyewitness  told our Correspondent that the matchet cuts on the dead body  suggests that the man was murdered. The eyewitness added that the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained even as onlookers gathered to take picture and video of the dead body.

Mr. Anekan Sunday while speaking with Newsmen also confirmed the arrest of five suspects in connection with the incident. Recalled that Mr Erica,abducted the six month child belonging to his co-tenant and ran away to Uyo,Akwa/Ibom state. Detectives from Mile 1 Police Division trailed the suspect Erica to Uyo,arrested him and brought him back to Port Harcourt two weeks ago.
