Rivers State Police Rescues A Day Old Baby From Human Traffickers

  By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police Command has apprehended two suspects involved in a disturbing case of human trafficking in Port Harcourt. The arrested individuals are Daniel Onyegbulem, a 28-year-old male from Umuoye in Etche Local Government Area and Uzodinma Eze, popularly known as Thank-God, 33-year-old from Omanwa in Ikwerre Local Government Area.   Commissioner of Police Olatunji Disu in a briefing at the Command’s headquarters in Port Harcourt said that on Monday, 22nd January 2024, officers from the C4i Intelligence Unit, conducted a routine stop and search operation along Igwuruta-Eneka Road. Police In Rivers State Recovers Four Point Two Million Naira Extorted By Officers

  By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu Rivers State Police Command says it has handed over four point two million naira extorted from two victims Kalu Ibe and Anthony Ifeanyi by three Police Officers attached to the Command. Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command SP Grace Iringe-Koko, in a press briefing in Port Harcourt said the Command wishes to inform the public that it has taken disciplinary action against the Police officers who under the guise of investigation in which there was no complainant arrested the two victims from Abia state took them to Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta States and back to Port Harcourt.   SP Iringe-Koko said upon receipt of official complaints from the victims on January, 17, 2024 steps were taken by the Command.    The officers involved, ASP Daubra Edonyabo, ASP Talent Mungo and Inspector Odey Michael were arrested and the money recovered and handed over to the victims.   According to the Spokesperson, action of the Police officers is in violation of co

Nigeria U20 Female Team Falconets Qualifies To 11th U20 Female World Cup Appearance

 By Josiah Egbilika The Nigerian U-20 women team known as Falconets are through to the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup to be hosted in Colombia later this year.  The Falconets defeated their Burundi  U-20 counterpart 2-0 on aggregate to secure one of the four tickets available to teams in African region.  The second tie of Nigerian female football had earlier defeated Burudi U-20 female team 1-0 in Burundi before defeating them again in the return leg in Abuja, Nigeria. The qualification will make it a record 11th time appearance of the Facolnets in the Women U20 world cup fiestas. Nigeria alongside Brazil, Germany, and United States remain the only countries to have attended all previous 10 editions of the tournament.

Andoni LGA To Enact By-law To Enforce Compliance To Safety Rules On Its Waterways

Joy In Ahoada As Police Gun Down Notorious Criminal

 By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu Police in Rivers State has apprehended a notorious armed robber and cult leader, Silas Oderereke, in Oderereke community, Ahoada-West Local Government Area. The suspect also known as General, had been on the run for the past four years.  However, his reign of terror came to an end when he resisted arrest and opened fire on the police, resulting in his death. As the head of the Greenlanders' cult group in the Ubie clan of Ahoada West, Oderereke and his gang, were famous for their criminal activities, which included armed robbery, land grabbing, unauthorized sales of buildings and brutal attacks on those who dared to oppose them.  The cult leader would even order the destruction of houses in communities that resisted his criminal enterprises. On January 11, 2024, the police received information about Oderereke's gang's robbery operation, which also involved vandalizing the property of the late monarch of Ekpeye land in Ahoada Eze Robinson  Robinson.

 By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu The family of Community Development Committee ,CDC;Chairman of Mgboshimini in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chief Ndidi Livingstone who was shot dead last week saturday at the front of Peculiar  Faith Ministries,Rumueme has called for justice.  Elder brother of the murdered CDC Chairman, Mr. Godspower Livingstone, in an interview with Newsmen said  his  brother was killed by four gunmen in Police uniform with AK-47 guns. Mr.Livingstone revealed that he was in the house when information came that his younger brother has been shot dead. According to Mr.Livingstone, eyewitnesses said they saw the suspects with highlander Jeep tinted glass on Police uniform where they were trying to push his brother inside the vehicle. As the brother was struggling with them,he was shot at his head and stomach. Mr.Livingstone called on the Police and other law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter and and bring the killers of his brother to book.

Police In Rivers Rescue Popular hotelier From Kidnappers Den

  By Awajis Josiah-Chijindu  The Rivers State Police Command has rescued a kidnapped victim who was kidnapped on December 19,2023. Commissioner of Police,Olatunji Disu,  while briefing Newsmen at the command's Headquarters in Port Harcourt said the victim was a popular hotelier who was shot three times before he was abducted. CP Disu explained that while on the rescue mission, one of the kidnappers got injured in the course of exchanging gun fire with the police.   He further said that the kidnappers collected ransom in food flasks and assured the public that the Police are trailing other members of the gang to arrest them. Some of the items recovered were one AK 47, two magazines, RX 350 and 330 vehicles. The victim whose name was withheld for security reasons said he suffered so much and appreciated the police for coming to his rescue.
