Police Operatives Arrest Suspected Child Trafficker, Abductor

Bloody Month End: Six killed in Two Communities In Rivers State

  By Awajis George  Gunmen suspected to be cultists have killed six persons in two communities in Rivers State between Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st May, 2023. One person in Abarikpo community, Ahoada East Local Government Area and five persons in Odiereke-Ubie community Ahoada West Local Government Areas were reported dead. In an interview with our Correspondent,  Public Relations Officer of Akoh Youth Congress in Akoh kingdom, Ahoada East, Comrade Ekeakita Hector Chinem said the killing in Abarikpo community occurred at about five minutes past four in the morning. He said some group of cult boys residing at a neighbouring community, came to Abarikpo to search for about three persons .   The Rivers State House of Assembly is inviting the following nominees to appear before it today, 30th May 2023 by 9am  for screening as Commissioners Designate They are :  1. Professor Zaccheaus Adangor, SAN.              2. Dr Dakorinama George-Kelly              3. Hon Isaac Kamalu 4. Professor Prince Chinedu Mmon The nominees  are requested to submit 35 sets of photocopies of their credentials to the office of the clerk and come along with original copies of their credentials including tax clearance certificates for the screening.  As of the time of filing this report, Commissioners nominees are before the Rivers State House of Assembly  for screening.

Election Adjudication: Reaction Trail Judgement On Live Broadcast Of Tribunal

 By Awajis George  Reactions have continued to trail the judgement of the supreme court over the live broadcasting of proceedings of the tribunal filed by  Labour party and Peoples Democratic Party. The supreme court had ruled against the Live broadcast of the proceedings citing security reasons amongst others. Rivers Police Orders Adequate Security Ahead Of May 29th Inauguration

            New Rivers CP Emeka By Awajis George  The Commissioner of Police Rivers State Command, CP. Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka has ordered the maximum deployment of personnel, intelligence, and operational resources of the command for effective policing of Gowon Stadium Elekahia, Port Harcourt, and other parts of the state in line with the swearing-in ceremony of the Rivers State Governor-elect and his Deputy on May 29, 2023. In a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the CP orders all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to place adequate security in their areas of responsibility according to the operation order designed by the Command. Rivers Police Kills Two Kidnappers, Recover Arms

  Viewer's Discretion is advised  C4i Intelligence Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command in the early hours of Friday 19th May, 2023 raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout at Oyigbo/Igbo-Etche Forest.  The Operatives were acting on actionable intelligence gathered on the kidnapping gang. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement said the suspects upon sighting the Police team opened fire on them. During the gun duel that lasted for about an hour, the gang leader, who was later identified as Aka Blacky, was fatally wounded. Another suspect identified as Peter Nwafor was shot while trying to escape.                  Police Logo According to the statement, the two suspects were taken to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital where they were confirmed dead by doctor on duty. Kidnap Syndicate: Rivers Police Nap Kingpin In Kano,Others .... recover firearms, ammunition, vehicles

  By  Awajis George Operatives of the C4i Intelligence Unit of the Rivers State Police Command in the course of investigating into a case of kidnapping and armed robbery reported on January 15, 2023, travelled on Friday 12th May, 2022  to Kano State and effected the arrest of one Abdullahi Ibrahim.                                                             The Operatives recovered a Black 2010 Toyota Matrix with Reg. No. SPR 283 TA, and a Blue 2008 Toyota Camry with Reg. No. ABC 49 AT, both believed to have been snatched or stolen from Port Harcourt. Women Journalists Task To Embrace Digital Tools In Stories Telling

This was the charge given by Programme Manager Institute for Media and Society,(IMS), Mr Timothy Bamidele at a two day training in Port Harcourt on Digital Multimedia Stories Telling  organized by the Institute with support from European Union, (EU) for Women Journalists drawn from the South South States of the Federation.
